Something a Doctor SHOULD NEVER tell a stroke or brain injury survivor. EVER!

So peeps I went to my doctors the other day to go over my blood test.

By the way I heard him say something I never heard him say before!

You're the healthiest you've been since you've been coming to Kaiser!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Weight down 60 pounds, all blood tests within normal ranges especially proud of my cholesterol!

After watching a documentary on how Statins (Cholesterol lowering drug) was invented by the gigantic pharmaceuticals multi billion dollar industry.
How statins are killing 10's of thousands of people worldwide! It was because I was experiencing a known side effect of chronic overall body pain is the reason I quit statins.

Being a wheelchair bound for the past 6 years I have come to live with what's become chronic pain!

The pain had become unbearable!

After my research on the truth behind statins and learning that muscle pain was a common side effect and my pain unbearable I had to stop taking the statins. Here's a Facebook page I found extremely helpful. Stopped Our Statins.

Within four days of quitting statins my pain was all but gone!

WARNING
I'M NOT A DOCTOR! YOU NEED TO DECIDE FOR YOURSELF ABOUT STATINS! I'M SHARING WITH YOU MY EXPERIENCE!

After hearing all my cholesterol readings were well within normal ranges, I told my doctor I had quit my statins two months prior.
He was amazed because big pharma companies are telling him something completely different!

Sorry peeps! Got side tracked! (stroke survivor) lol

So anyway!

Looking for some encouragement, I asked my doctor "can I recover from stroke"?

What he said devastated and shocked me!
I vowed I would write this Blog and share it with him in hopes to keep him from mistakenly crushing a younger less educated stroke survivor!

My doctor told me that a stroke survivor's recovery plateaus after one year and will not improve after twelve months or one year.

WHAT?

This way of thinking goes against some of the world's greatest Neuroscientists!

The key is they have learned the human brain has an ability called Neuroplasticity.

Here's a couple of videos on the well known and scientifically proven ability of the human brain known as Neuroplasticity.

Can we stroke survivors recover from our stroke?

What is Neuroplasticity?

World renowned Neuroscientist Norman Dodge.

Bottom line peeps!

YOU CAN RECOVER FROM YOUR STROKE! WORK HARD! RECOVERY IS A LIFELONG PROCESS BUT POSSIBLE!

STAY AWESOME!

Sincerely,
Aaron Avila
